Lifestyle Maternity & Newborn Sessions

A lifestyle photography session is when we photograph you in your home. These sessions are becoming more popular and really work well when you have large enough rooms with good lighting- we can bring our lighting as well to assist.

The style of the photographs will be more intimate, playful and relaxed as will the poses. We can spend some time capturing moments of you and family interacting in your home, playing games, cuddling, etc.

Space Themed Cake Smash

One theme that we had not done before is a space theme! It was a "blast" planning for this session! Once again, our Cake Master, did a wonderful job creating what we had envisioned for the cake. For the scene we added stars, a moon and clouds with a dark blue background. Little Apollo had his space suit on and was ready to dig into the cake, and boy did he! We hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed taking them. Happy Birthday Apollo!

We always look forward to cake smash sessions, as it is so fun to watch little one’s express themselves and to see them eat cake too, of course!

The theme for this smash session was a unicorn theme, with purple, pink and aqua colors and a unicorn cake! Little Aya made us smile throughout the whole session. You could tell she was a little explorer and on the move! She had Daddy working hard and catching her as she crawled fast! Her little giggle was contagious as well as her smile, what a cutie!

When it came time for the cake, she studied it a bit and then looked at her parent’s for approval. She gradually started to dig into it and seemed to enjoy it!

Newborn Nautical colored theme

Here is adorable baby Gavin, all the way from the coast of Maine! He came to us at about 4 weeks old. He didn't like to be moved while he was sleeping and we surely don't blame him, but he sure did great during the session! The parents went with a nautical type theme, as his Dad works as a lobster man. It was a lot of fun to create the chalkboard stat scene to incorporate the nautical style.

Bangor Maine Newborn Dough Bowl Photo Session

We captured the start of this family back in 2015, with their first son, Everett, as a newborn. Then, a year later with a cake smash session. Now, they have a new addition, another boy! Dad is in the US Air Force and also a Firefighter, so it was fitting to incorporate some of his gear within both newborn sessions. We also put the little guy in a handmade wooden dough bowl, just the right size and all cozied up in a soft blanket. While the little guy took a break, we took some fun photos of his big brother and Dad. Thanks again for allowing us to capture your special moments!

Congratulations Alice and Kyle! It has been fun watching your family grow.

2019 Senior Portraits August 16th

We were excited to have the opportunity to photograph Rylan's Senior photos, especially when she told us she'd be bringing her old classic Ford Mustang!! The first part of her session took place at an old Mill. Both her Mother and Grandmother joined us, we had a lot of fun (and laughs) with them throughout the session! Rylan was a natural in front of the camera!

The second part of the session took place at a park in Pittsfield, with Rylan's "sidekick", her beautiful Mustang! This car definitely has some background to it and means a lot to her and her family. The car used to be her Grandmother Lana's car, which was passed onto Rylan a few years ago.

Rylan, congratulations on your Senior year!

Maternity Session - Soon to be Family of 4 - Orono, Maine

It was great to see this family again! We captured them in 2015 when their first little one was still in Momma's belly and a little later as a small little newborn baby! Now, for this session she was almost three! Time sure does fly!

We took this growing family to a nice and quiet park in Orono, ME for their Maternity session. Big sister is definitely ready to meet her little sister, and so are her parents. Congratulations!

Our Vacation to Banff National Park - Cananda

Robin and I have wanted to visit Banff for several years- we'd read articles of the Park, viewed other's photographs and watched segments on TV depicting it's beautiful landscape. Roughly 9 months ago I started to research what to see, where to go and where to stay and of course the cost of tickets, car rentals, hotels, etc. I put together a notebook of of various places that we wanted to see and ranked them by desire and cost.

Here's a quick overview of our trip that highlights some of the things we did.

Moraine LakeMoraine Lake - my favorite spot. I got up early 3 times to see the sunrise, this was my second morning and it was amazing to watch the sunrise light-up the tops of the mountain peaks. Peyto LakePeyto Lake - My wife and I both commented that the scene to our eyes looked faked - Similar to the way Hawaii did at times. The colors here were just so vibrant. We stay until the impending storm reached us.

Mount Ogden in the distanceThis was one of my favorite moments. We decided to hike to the summit of Paget Peak. Why? It was one of the "easier" hikes and I wanted a view of Mount Ogden in the distance (Our last name is Ogden). We climbed 3/4's of the way up with our four year old daughter and I decided that the increasing steap acsent combined with the loose rock was too dangerous. My wife took our daughter down to the fire look out tower while I hiked to the summit. It was very difficult as I was off trail. It was very rewarding to get to the top and view all of the mountains from such an elevation. It was about 8800 feet up.

Sesame Street Cake Smash in Bangor Maine

We enjoyed capturing this little boy’s Cake Smash session. We adorned the studio with the mix of Sesame Street colors and an Elmo cake, that Callen couldn’t resist! Callen was born on New Year’s Eve, so we also had to incorporate a New Year’s theme to celebrate, with confetti and all!

Aurora Turns One - Cake Smash

Aurora Robinson’s One Year Cake Smash

We first worked with the Robinson’s for their Maternity session. When we met them, right off, we could tell they were going to be fun to work with, very easy going people!

We met little Aurora last Fall and enjoyed capturing the newness of this little life. A few more months later, we took family photos of this wonderful family, at the same location as the Maternity photos, an Apple Orchard! Now, one year later, Aurora is now ONE! What a little doll she was for her cake smash session. Her color theme was pink and gold, which was carried out onto her cake. The cake had a quilted look to it, with a touch of pearls and a delicate flower on top.

Her expressions were priceless, she seemed to like the camera and sure loved the cake! Her little blue eyes lit up the room and made it easy for us to capture her First Birthday! Happy Birthday Aurora!

Being a photographer in Bangor Maine we have many people who enjoy the outside, hunting, fishing, etc. including us. We thought that it would be cute to incorporate a hunter type theme for people that enjoy the sportsmen lifestyle.

Nautical & Military Newborn Session - Bangor Maine Newborn Photographers

This newborn session was a special one. Little Everett’s Dad is a Fireman for the Air National Guard in Bangor, Maine- as well as a Fishermen! So, we made sure the scenes were unique to each of his jobs. Everett found that he really liked his Dad posing/holding him, so Dad was put to work for the rest of the session! For this session, we had the following scenes:

Nautical Scene – Everett sleeping in a crate with an anchor and whale
Fireman Scene – Bundled up in his Dad’s jacket, as well as between his boots with Dad’s helmet
Military Scene – Dad’s shirt on a flag as well as another shot with Dad’s boots and hat

Miss Addilyn

You never know how a first birthday and cake smash session are going to go. So far, all of our cake smashes have been slightly different when it comes to the cake! Before Addilyn’s cake smash, we took a few individual pictures of Miss Addilyn and then some with her Mom. You could see the Mother and Daughter love through the pictures, just precious!

This little girl was a joy to work with for her 1 year/cake smash session! She loves Minnie Mouse, so we used that as a theme for her cake smash. When we got her cake out, she was curious, but not afraid to dig in! She took her time and with her first bite of the cake came a startled expression, but she must’ve liked it, as she went back for more! Looking forward to working with this family again!

Newborn Landon - Hungry Caterpillar - Bangor Maine Cake Smash Photographers

Landon was a very easy going newborn baby- as long as he had a comfy blanket and was fed he was content. Mommy had several outfits made by family members and different scenes that she was interested in. One of our favorites which at the time was new to us is the "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" scene; that book was favorite of ours growing up. The box itself isn't very cozy but with a warm blanket Landon settled in no time. It didn't matter what box, crate or moose horn he was placed in/on he slept through the majority of the session.
